I’m overflowing with gratitude 🙏 for you sharing your cherished homestead recipe and techniques. You’ve truly kindled a spark of inspiration in me to create soap for my loved ones 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. I’m a firm believer in the beauty of simplicity! I do have one query - could you kindly share where you procure your lye beads and essential oils? The quality of ingredients can indeed be the deciding factor between a good and a great recipe. 🌿🧼

Hi. I'm just curious why you still like to have feisty chicken breeds? I do have a variety of breeds and I don't like those who seem to be too dumb, neither the aggressive ones. Calm and friendly are my favorites 😍

I really really love your tutorials, and have been trying for, what feels like forever, to convince my wife to ditch the corporate world and take this up, but she’s not quite ready yet 🥰 I do have to say though, whoever is helping you off screen, you talk to them like they’re a dumb child… I think you’re fabulous, so I know you can do better. ♥️

Instead of using olive oil would it work with MCT and tallow and Squalane oil as long as the fat still equals the 50 ounces? (I have sub derm, and malassazia safe oils like MCT and squalane don’t feed it, that is why I make my own soap, it’s hard to buy).

In this video you mention using the leftover that won't fit in your mold to make laundry soap. Do you have to do anything different when using the bar soap leftover or just use it to replace the pink zote in your laundry soap video?

Becky+++++++++++++++++++ I use a scent oil....I make my oil from the thyme or rosemary I grow in my herb garden....I just have so much waste of the herbs if I don't get creative- like defused oils. Search how to infuse oil with your herb of choice and it'll show you how. OR I've been known to just cheat and buy some orange oil or scented oil. Whatever you like is fine. I like my lard soap to smell good like my great granny's did. She put dried, ground up orange peel AND orange oil into hers. It smelled like fresh squeezed oranges and the orange peel would gently scrub off the dirt. I'm 51 so, she knew all the old secrets to making stuff. LOL.

I have made many batches of homemade lye soap; some with store bought lye and some making my own wood ash lye. I have never wrapped the new soap in blankets and my soap has always come out beautifully. While i dont see any harm in doingso, it just seems like an unnecessary step. Also, it can be a little iffy mixing the lye in a plastic container. There is such variation in plastics that the heat generated might cause disintegration and or melting of the plastic container. I would personally be concerned about with the heat it could cause leavhing of the chemicals from the plastic into the soap. A large glass bowl might be a better option because you know it wont react with the lye.
